Blists Hill Victorian Town

Step back in time and experience life in nineteenth century Britain. Ditch modern money for Victorian shillings, enjoy fabulous fairground rides, and indulge in some traditional sweet treats in this realistic relic of a bygone era.

Attingham Park

Situated just outside of Shrewsbury, this idyllic National Trust property makes for a great day out. A restored eighteenth century mansion surrounded by picturesque gardens and parkland, Attingham Park truly is a sight to behold. Be sure to keep an eye out for fallow deer and other local wildlife!

Other National Trust locations in the county include Benthall Hall, Carding Mill Valley, Dudmaston, Wilderhope Manor and Sunnycroft.

Shrewsbury Castle

Now a museum and art gallery, this spectacular red sandstone castle stands in the centre of Shrewsbury by the banks of the River Severn. A popular location for weddings and special events, this quintessentially British castle is filled with English heritage.

The Much Wenlock Museum

Of course, the little town of Much Wenlock boasts plenty of attractions on its doorstep. The free Much Wenlock museum explores the life of Dr. William Penny Brookes and his creation of the modern Olympic Games.

Wroxeter Roman City

An English heritage site dating back over 2000 years, these authentic ruins once made up the fourth largest city in Britain. Explore these ancient remains and discover more about Britain’s Roman history.

The perfect destination for adrenaline junkies and thrill seekers, The Edge Activity Centre boasts outdoor pursuits such as quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, archery, zip wire and mountain boarding.

Shropshire Raft Tours

Located in the nearby historic town of Ironbridge, Shropshire Raft Tours offer riverboat, canoe and kayak rental, as well as cycle hire and other outdoor activities along the River Severn.

The Wrekin

This mighty hill stands tall and visible in the local area, and is a popular route for walkers. With a height of over 400 metres, its scenic route makes for a lovely dog walk.
